Turn Up The Volume

Since this journey just started this week, I have a huge task of filling up this blog with useful and relative information for all of the entrepreneurial minds stopping by. I will be researching all the best ideas out there to help your business get started and grow, so I want your help. Have you got a fantastic post that made you dotcom dollars and you’d like to share it with the world of money making bloggers? Let me know, and I will publish you. So, what are the things that you should focus on when you are starting out on your journey?:

Timing

Timing is important because you have to understand when your audience is looking for information, and it is not just about reaching the people in your small town. If that was the case, you could pass out flyers. You have to figure out where you get the most hits from; check your statistics application to determine where your biggest group of readers is located and at what time they tend to log on to your site. I use my Treo 755p to help me send posts via email for those breaking news articles.

Content

Now anyone worth anything on the internet will tell you that content is where the real action is, and lets face it, the only reason people actually visit blogs is for the content and not our great smiles. So, you have to provide fresh content. One of the traps of providing good content is providing content for a specific kind of reader which only gets you a specific kind of reader. You have to try to mix your content with a variety of topics and popular videos so you can reach a bigger group that will get excited about your site. And, maybe they’ll stick around and even learn to like your smile while reading about your favorite topic.

Exposure

If content is king, then exposure is next in line for the crown. Not having exposure is like being the most beautiful woman in the world with the greatest personality, but no one knows because you live at the north pole. Your content only becomes valuable if someone reads it. You have to notify the right sites, so they can spread the word about you. Use sites like Digg.com - del.icio.us - reddit.com - Corank.com - Netscape.com just to name a few to get your site exposure.

Networking

You are not the only blogger in the world, so don’t lock yourself away in a comfortable hiding place and never come out to talk to other bloggers in the blogosphere. There is a good chance they have been around longer and will have a loyal group of readers of whom might be interested in what you have to say. Remember, linking to articles from another blog will help both of you, since these links are one of the things google page rank and technorati rankings get measured on. Always make sure you credit the source if you quote some information. Remember, you are building relationships.

Be Prepared

Be ready to jot down any ideas for great articles that you see or hear about. You never know when a great article will hit you in the face.
