Somewhere Over the Rainbow…
Have you ever said, “I’ll be happy when <fill in the blank> happens.” It could be anything from getting married, starting a successful business, or saying you will really live when you reach an older age. If that has ever been you, then you are looking for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and I hate to burst your bubble but that gold is fools gold. If you’re waiting to really live your life - you’re lying to yourself…In other words…”What is the point of waking up in 20 years and being rich beyond your wildest dreams if you come to the realization that for the past 20 years you didn’t live and enjoy life while you worked to achieve so much. One of the biggest privileges of being a successful entrepreneur is the freedom–Freedom to live the life you want… freedom to work when you want to… freedom to do just about anything you want to. But freedom unexercised is no different than being chained to a desk with a typical 9-to-5 job! As an entrepreneur, you have the rare opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest and, most importantly, impact your world. Yet, too many people are so caught up in just making money that all they end up doing is working to make money. It’s not surprising that the entrepreneurs that play hard and work hard are some of the most successful people in the world. It’s because they have powerful balance in their lives that makes making money even easier. And don’t forget: whom much has been given, much will be required. So, I challenge you this week to remind yourself of why you are working so hard. What is the point that you get to truly enjoy the results of your hard work? And will you be the only one to benefit, or will you change the lives of others as well?
